GUITARRISTA MARCOS AMORIM NA JAZZIZ

07 agosto 2006

A bilingual musician if there ever was one, MARCOS AMORIM includes both English and Portuguese spellings on his American debut CD, Coisas Demais Por Fazer/Many Things To Do (Adventure Music). The Brazilian guitarist also translates song titles like “Sete Capelas/Seven Chapels,” a piece featuring soothing melodies by himself and flutist Nivaldo Ornelas. These augment the stuttering, off-timed rhythms of bassist Ney Conceição and drummer/percussionist Robertinho Silva. Amorim has become a favorite on both the touring and instructional circuits in Brazil since releasing his 1993 debut CD. Boto/The Pink Dolphin was named the Best Instrumental CD of the Year by O Globo, Rio de Janeiro’s leading newspaper.
