Nessa ocasião CARMICHAEL fez amizade com Bix Beiderbecke para quem compôs em 1924 “Riverboat Shuffle” (gravado nesse ano pelos “Wolverines) e o hiper-clássico “Stardust” em 1928. Integrou-se ao meio jazzístico em que transitavam Joe “King” Oliver, Benny Goodman e Louis Armstrong, entre outros, abandonando o estudo da advocacia pela música.

Essa postagem é uma homenagem ao gênio criativo, tão pouco lembrado, de HOAGY CARMICHAEL.

Realmente magnífica homenagem grande compositor junto aos não menos magníficos que citou - Cole Porter, George & Ira Gershwin, Richard Rodgers, Lorenz Hart, Jerome Kern, Frank Loesser, Irving Berlin, Harold Arlen, Johnny Mercer e Harry Warren - crème da la crème (nata da cultura musical popular)
Mais uma autêntica aula de um de nossos Mestres. Aprendi hoje (e não antes, confesso) a autoria de uma infinidade de músicas como sendo do Carmichael, nome ao qual, por pura ignorância, dava uma importância residual dentro das minha atenções.
